Description
I came across this poor table in need of some real TLC. As I started dissembling the table to clean it up it became clear the glue joint on the central section had failed, as it just fell apart!
I spent some time sanding back the old varnish and repairing the split using wooden bow ties, before I painted the legs matt black and oiled and waxed the top to give it some life back.
The table is an English style and almost certainly Oak. I can’t age the table, but this style was made for a few hundred years, from the late 16th century until quite recently. I’d guess this one is around 1900’s.
